What a weekend. The June Utica Comets Cup is in the books, and if you were there, you already know: Utica delivered.

We watched comeback wins, tight defensive battles, and more than a few first-place finishes that came down to the final minutes. We also watched something we never get tired of seeing: kids who started the weekend as opponents trading taps on the pads and shaking hands by Sunday afternoon.

Close Games, By Design

The thing we are proudest of is not any single result. It is that so many games were tight. That is not luck. It is the product of careful seeding, MyHockey Rankings data, and a lot of phone calls with coaches before the puck ever dropped. When the divisions are built right, the hockey takes care of itself, and this weekend the hockey was excellent.

Thank You To The Families.

Tournaments do not happen without parents who pack the car, book the hotel, and cheer until they lose their voices. To every family who made the trip to Utica, thank you. You are the reason we do this.

To our champions and finalists: congratulations. Display those banners proudly. And to every team that did not finish on top, you made the weekend what it was, and we hope to see you back on the ice soon.

If this recap is giving you a little FOMO, the good news is the fall calendar is already filling up, including a return trip to Utica in September. Now is the time to start mapping your team's season.
